Teddy, the Pirate – Free Amigurumi Bear Pattern

A handmade crochet teddy bear amigurumi with light brown and beige yarn. The bear is sitting upright and wearing a small black eye patch over one eye, giving it a playful pirate look. It has black safety eyes, a black embroidered nose, and a soft, cozy appearance against a plain white background.

🧸 Teddy, the Pirate Bear of Dreams 🏴‍☠️

Teddy isn’t an ordinary pirate — he sails across the seas of dreams!
Every night, when children fall asleep, he sets off on his ship made of clouds and stars, searching for hidden treasures: laughter, hugs, and lost good dreams.

His black eyepatch isn’t because he lost an eye — it’s actually a magical eye that sees deep into dreams and helps Teddy protect those who sleep from mischievous nightmares.

With a heart full of cotton and real courage, Teddy is the guardian of dreamers — and every dawn, he quietly returns to the pillow, ready for the next nighttime adventure. 🌙✨

MUZZLE

With beige yarn:

R1: MR with 6 sc

R3: 1 sc, 1 inc – rep 6x [18]

R4: 8 sc, 1 inc – rep 2x [20]

R5: 20 sc

Sew the muzzle between rows 12 and 18. I used a muzzle with a safety lock, but it is also possible to embroider it.

EARS (Make 2)

The ears consist of 2 parts. Let’s start with the inner part.

NOTE: Although we are using a AM, we are going to work in turns, not with circular rows as usual.

With beige yarn:

R1: MR with 6 sc

R2: 1 ch, turn; 6 inc [12]

R3: 12 sc

Tailpiece and leave a long thread for sewing.

With beige yarn:

R1: MR with 6 sc

R2: 1 ch, turn; 6 inc [12]

R3: 1 ch, turn; 1 sc, 1 inc [18]

R4: BLO – 18 sc

Tailpiece and leave a long thread for sewing.

Now, let’s sew the inner part to the outer one. We will join the two parts by taking the front loop of the last row of the inner part and the front loop that we left in the 4th row of the outer part and sew them.

Align and sew the ears between rows 6 and 13.

EYE PATCH

R1: let’s start with 7 chains and, from the second stitch, we’ll do 6 sc

R2: 1 ch, 6 sc [6]

R3: 1 ch, 6 sc [6]

R4: 1 dec, 2 sc, 1 dec [4]

Now we will go around the sides and make the loop: 1 ch, 4 sc on the side, 60 sc, 1 slst on the first stitch on the other side, 4 sc on the other side. NOTE: Measure the length of the strap to determine the correct number of chains.
